The inspectors carrying out the inspections shall be technicians with technical qualifications and qualifications in the field of ship inspection and notified to the Directorate General for Merchant Shipping. They shall have the control and measuring equipment required in each case, suitably calibrated. The work shall be carried out by SGS statutory surveyors, from the nearest survey centre to the location of the vessel, and a list of survey centres and contact details is given in Annex IV.
