Atlantic began its first steps in marine insurance broking in 2006 and has gradually made its way into this sector, obtaining its registration as a Lloyd's Broker in London in 2011.
The firm employs a number of senior executives who have worked within insurance companies specialising in the shipping industry and maritime lawyers with extensive knowledge of the commercial contracts that govern the shipping industry.

Atlantic started as a representative and correspondent of an International Group P&I Club. Its founders are maritime lawyers.
The company now operates in London, Madrid, Miami, Bogota and Houston.
Atlantic expanded into marine insurance broking in 2006 and in 2011 gained accreditation as a Lloyd's Broker in London.
Atlantic maintains its own marine casualty company called St. Clement.
